About the Center

Training and testing language center for foreigners was organised on the basis of the Centre of International Education, which since 1954 has been training foreign students, as well as supporting the process of Russian as a foreign language teaching with linguistic methods.

Training and testing language center for foreigners conducts certification examinations as part of the Russian State Russian as a Foreign Language Testing System (TORFL) on all levels of proficiency in Russian and business communication language.

Levels of proficiency in Russian

General proficiency in Russian as a foreign language includes six levels:

• Elementary,
• Basic,
• Intermediate,
• Advanced,
• Proficiency,
• Fluency.

Four levels of proficiency in Russian as a means of business communication:

• Basic,
• Intermediate,
• Advanced,
• Proficiency.

Cost of testing

Cost of certification test of Russian as a foreign language was approved by the Board of Directors of the Head Testing Centre and depends on the level.

Test Preparation

The Center also offers training programmes for undergoing certification tests on all levels of general proficiency in Russian as a foreign language and proficiency in Russian as a means of business communication.
